Course Content

Core Units

CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry [ accredited unit of competency] 

Optional Electives 

  • Warehouse Overview
  • Construction Overview
  • Financial Literacy

Upon successful completion of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry, you will receive  

  • Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment confirming completion of the required construction induction training. 

  • The Statement of Attainment is valid for 60 days and may be used as evidence of training while the White Card is being processed. 

The RTO will: 

  • submit training records to WorkSafe Victoria following successful course completion 

WorkSafe Victoria will: 

  • process the application and issue the White Card. 

  • mail the white card which can take up to 60 days to arrive 

Only training that meets all regulatory and assessment requirements is eligible for White Card issuance. 

A valid White Card is required to undertake construction work. 

Privacy 

To facilitate the issuance of high-risk work licence, construction induction cards (White Cards), we must share your personal and assessment details with the relevant Victorian regulators: 

  • WorkSafe Victoria: In accordance with RTO conditions, your personal information—including identity documents and assessment results—will be disclosed to WorkSafe Victoria to process your licence application or verify your competency. 

Course Delivery 

Classroom based, 100% face to face delivery of training content and assessments by our experienced and supportive White Card Trainer and Assessor 

9am – 4pm 

Days 

1 day for core units plus an additional 1 day, for each elective option 

Assessment 

Practical activities, case studies, written exercises, online assessments 

Prerequisites  

There are no prerequisites  

Requirements 

You will need the following to complete your application: 
 
1. USI number : You must have a USI number prior to applying for a course  
You can locate your USI by visiting here: www.usi.gov.au/students/find-your-usi 
If you do not have a USI you can create a USI here: www.usi.gov.au/providers/create-usi-student 
2. Email: address and login details in order to complete the course application
3. Photo Identification: for our Trainer and Assessor to sight e.g. drivers’ licence, passport, key pass 

Fees 

$2400 for the core unit  

Additional $1300 per day for each optional elective
