Combines practical training on how to operate a commercial espresso machine with skills and knowledge in hygienic food practices and responsible serving of alcohol. Training is face to face under the guidance of our supportive and experienced trainers. Suitable for people looking to enter the hospitality industry or in licensed premises.

This course is an approved activity by Centrelink and contributes towards your participation requirements. People experiencing a disability are encouraged to apply.

What you will gain

Practical skill set for entry level work in hospitality including licensed premises and food retail outlets and:
  • Statement of Attainment in SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety
  • Statement of Attainment in SITHFAB0025 Prepare and serve espresso coffee
  • Statement of Attainment SITHFAB0021 Provide responsible service of alcohol 
  • Credit transfer and pathway to further study in hospitality, retail, food 

Course Content

Statement of Attainment for successful completion of units of competency listed below
Units of competency:
  • SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety*
  • SITHFAB025 Prepare and serve espresso coffee
  • SITHFAB0021 Provide responsible service of alcohol
*Liquor Control Victoria issue your RSA Certificate of Completion. To receive this certificate, you must complete Liquor Control Victoria’s online module Sexual Harassment and Assault: Recognise, Prevent and Respond.

Privacy

To facilitate the issuance of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, we must share your personal and assessment details with the relevant Victorian regulators:
  • For students completing RSA training, your details will be provided to the LCV Liquor Control Victoria to ensure your certificate is validly recorded and to allow for future refresher training.

1. USI number – You must have a USI number prior to applying for a course

$ 7,300 (Equivalent to $146 per person per day for a group of 10) additional equipment cost may apply
